Vaccinations in Vienna: Your Protection Through Prevention at the Primary Care Centre
Would you like to protect yourself and your loved ones from serious illnesses? Vaccinations are among the most effective measures in modern medicine. At our Primary Care Centre, we are here to help you keep your vaccination status up to date – simple, professional and tailored just for you.
Why should you get vaccinated?
Vaccination is about so much more than just protecting yourself. By achieving a high vaccination rate in the community, we also protect those who cannot be vaccinated themselves for medical reasons (herd immunity). Our goal is to break the chains of infection and prevent severe courses of illness.
Our Services: Everything for your vaccination protection
At our Primary Care Centre, we offer you a comprehensive service package so that you don't have to worry about your protection:
Personalised vaccination advice: Our experienced general practitioners are happy to advise you on all recommended vaccinations and answer any questions you may have about risks and side effects.
Vaccination record check: Simply bring your vaccination card (digital or booklet) with you. We will check which boosters are due and create a personalised schedule for you.
Direct administration: We keep many vaccines permanently in stock (e.g. tick-borne encephalitis or influenza), so we can often vaccinate you directly on site.
Specialist vaccines: We can quickly order vaccinations against shingles (herpes zoster) or pneumococci for you.
The Austrian Vaccination Plan 2026: What is important now?
The vaccination plan is updated annually by experts. Here are the most important key points for you:
Free vaccination programmes
Austria offers many vaccinations free of charge as part of the public vaccination programme:
Children & adolescents: Up to the age of 15, most basic vaccinations (e.g. 6-in-1 vaccine, MMR) are free.
HPV (Human Papillomaviruses): The vaccination is permanently free for children and young people from their 9th to their 21st birthday. Important for 21- to 30-year-olds: If you received your first dose by the end of 2025, your second dose is still free of charge until 30 June 2026.
Influenza (Seasonal Flu): Under the Public Influenza Vaccination Programme, the vaccine is accessible free of charge for large parts of the population (especially high-risk groups and older adults).
Important boosters for adults
As of 2026:
TBE (Tick-borne encephalitis vaccination): A must in Austria! The booster is due every 5 years, and every 3 years from the age of 60.
Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio: This combination booster should be given every 10 years (every 5 years from age 60).
COVID-19: An annual booster is recommended, particularly in autumn, for individuals at increased risk.

What should you take with you?
To help us give you the best and quickest care possible, please bring the following items with you: Your e-card: The most important thing for a smooth-running visit. Your vaccination record: Especially important for check-ups or vaccination consultations. Recent medical reports & medication list: This helps us get a complete overview of your health straight away. A cheerful smile: We will bring one too, as it is the best way to work together! Important note for EU patients: If you are not insured in Austria, please bring your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) with you. Please make sure that the 16-digit code on the back is easily readable. A small request: Even though we can sort out many things on the spot, please arrive at reception 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment (or planned visit). This gives us plenty of time to complete your registration, so you can start your treatment feeling relaxed and stress-free.
